Do you send notifications for renewals, overdue or recalled books?
Answer
Yes, the library does send out notifications, and it is our policy to send them via email. This will be to your KCL email address, or the one you supplied when you applied for your membership.
You are advised not to rely solely on these notices as you will still be liable for fines on items returned late. We encourage all library users to regularly check their account.
What emails can you expect?
Library Account Summary
A monthly email with the details of the items you have on loan.
Expiring Loans notices
This informs you if the due date of an item you have borrowed has changed, either due to another user requesting it or because your account is expiring.
Overdue notices
These are sent if you have not returned the item by the due date/time.
Lost Library Item Charge
You will receive this if you have informed us that you have lost an item on loan to you, or it is 7 weeks overdue.
We do not send automatic renewal notices; you will be notified if any standard loan book is due back, and you will have 7 days to return it.
If you believe you have returned an item which is still showing on your account, or you have lost or had stolen an item on loan then please contact us.
