King's Archives - Disruption to Service
Date: |
Thursday 31 October - Friday 24 January 2024 |
Time: |
All day |
🗃️❓ From 31 October 2024, in preparation for essential building work in one of our Archives stores, we are in the process of transferring some of our collections to our ‘OFF CAMPUS’ storage. This means that we will need additional notice to produce material, so please book in advance and provide specific catalogue references.
To ensure that the material you wish to see can be produced, we ask you to book research appointments and select material using our archives catalogue by Friday 15 November, 2024. After this date, we will still accept bookings, but some collections will not be available.
🗃️❌ From 1 December 2024 – Friday 24 January 2025, the Archives Service will be restricted while this essential building work is carried out. Our Reading Room will remain open to researchers, but some parts of the collection will not be accessible.
We apologise for any inconvenience, but with careful planning and advance booking, we hope to minimise disruption to our researchers.
To book an appointment or for advice about availability of material, please email archives@kcl.ac.uk.

Electronic Resources Issues
Wiley Online Library - current access issue
Date: |
30/01/2025 |
Time: |
Ongoing |
We are aware of an issue currently where searching for 'King's College London' does not return any results under 'Institutional Login' on the Wiley website. We have reached out to Wiley's customer support team to look into this and resolve.
In the meantime, if you search instead for ‘kcl’ you should see two options – student@kcl or member@kcl – clicking on the relevant entry should then allow you to access without issue.
Date added: 30th January 2025.
Euromonitor Passport - access issue for new users
Date: |
19/12/2024 |
Time: |
Ongoing |
We are aware of an issue with Euromonitor Passport that is preventing new users from registering for an account while off campus. Access for existing users, and access/registration while on campus appears to be working as normal.
We are liaising with the publisher, and we hope to have the issue resolved as soon as possible.

Springer and Nature Journals on Springer Link - login process
Date: |
18 December 2023 |
Time: |
Ongoing |
There is an ongoing functionality issue where the 'Log in' option in the top right-hand corner of the Springer site is requesting that users register a new account or 'continue with Google or ORCiD' - this log in method cannot be supported. At present as a workaround, we suggest that users first navigate to an article on the Springer platform (or navigate directly to an article by searching for the article on King's Library Search) and use the 'Log in via an institution' option displayed midway down the Springer Link page under the 'Access this article' heading - this method allows users to search for 'King's College London' as a subscribing institution and use their King's credentials to authenticate access.
Note that King's does not subscribe to all Springer journals. To check for availability, please search for an article or journal on Library Search.

Problems logging in to Taylor and Francis Online
Date: |
20 January 2022 |
Time: |
Ongoing |
Please note, there is an ongoing issue where users are occasionally required to log-in twice to the Taylor and Francis platform in order to view material that King's is subscribed to.
To access Taylor and Francis resources:
- Once you are on Taylor and Francis Online home page, click on ‘Log in’ at the top of the page.
- Under ‘Log in via your institution’, click on ‘Access through your institution’.
- Start typing ‘King’s College London’ in the search box and select the relevant entry for King’s which appears.
- This may take you to the King’s 'Sign in' page. Enter your K number, followed by ‘@kcl.ac.uk’ and password. Please note, at this stage, you may be prompted to complete an additional Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) step on your mobile device using an appropriate MFA authenticator.
- You will then be taken back to the page you were previously on in Taylor & Francis. You can see you are logged in from the words ‘Access provided by King's College London’ at the top of the screen.
