What is the King's supply policy?

We can lend print items from our collections to external libraries and institutions both in the UK and internationally. However, loan requests for the following items will be declined:

  • Items on a current Reading-List
  • Short Loan items
  • Reference Only items
  • Items held in Special Collections / Archives
  • Thesis items

Copies of articles and chapters can be supplied via email or post, depending on the permissions as detailed in the publisher license.


UK and Ireland

Requests can be made by email or post and should include the following details:

  • Your British Library customer number
  • Request details (author, year, title, page numbers, and volume/issue if relevant)
  • Your unique request ID

Payment will be charged at the current British Library rate.


International

Requests can be made by email, post or via OCLC Worldshare ILL. Please note that we accept payment via OCLC IFM, IFLA vouchers or the British Library invoicing system only.
