Can I access other University libraries?

Answer

Yes, there are a number of Access schemes you might profit from.

London

The University of London Access Agreement provides reference access to institutional libraries within the University of London. You will find a list of participating institutions here. Libraries may have different access arrangements, so please check with the library you intend to visit before travelling.

For non-King's staff or students wishing to visit King's libraries via this scheme, please visit this page for more information on how to apply.

Regional

The M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries offers a range of collaborative services at HE institutions within the M25 area and East/South-east England. Information about the consortium and details regarding access arrangements for visiting other institutions can be found through the Access25 page.

For King's staff or students wishing to visit other M25 consortium libraries via this scheme, please visit this page for more information on how to apply.

Please note that it is not currently possible for visiting users to borrow items from King’s College London through this scheme.

National

King's Staff (both academic and support), King's PGR students and King's researchers can access other UK University libraries via the SCONUL Access Scheme (Band-A).

  • Start your application on the SCONUL webpages by choosing 'King's College London' as your institution and your user type.
  • Select from the list of libraries available to visit and apply for access.

SCONUL Access scheme is a reciprocal agreement. In return, we are only accepting non-King's Band-A visitors: Staff (both academic and support staff) and PGR students.

You can find out the latest information about eligibility and participating Universities on the SCONUL webpages.

If you wish to visit King's libraries via this scheme, please visit this page for more information on how to apply.
